As children embark on their educational journeys, early education is of vital importance as it lays the foundation for future academic and social success. The Welcome to Kindergarten program helps prepare children for a positive start to their school journey. In May or June each year, our school invites parents/guardians and their child to visit our school to welcome our incoming kindergarten students and introduce them to the Welcome to Kindergarten activities.
A national program available in both English and French, Welcome to Kindergarten encourages children, parents/caregivers, schools and communities to make early learning a priority at home and prepare children for school. The program provides parents and caregivers with early learning and literacy resources and game-based activities that can be done at home together with their child.
